MICROLAB is a new core facility of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
At the core is a cleanroom, consisting of 300 m² class 1000 area and 250 m² class 10.000 technical area, supported by a dedicated staff, training facilities and flexible desks for users. The cleanroom is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for advanced microfabrication of glass and silicon, with a wafer size of 100 mm, and feature dimensions of < 1 µm. The cleanroom is accessible with a wheelchair and has a capacity of 5-8 FTE.
MICROLAB is an open-access facility supporting both the research community and industry in the development of microfluidic devices for medical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnological applications.
Located at the VUB Etterbeek Campus, centre of Brussels, Belgium, MICROLAB is well embedded in the bio and semicon ecosystems, such as Biovia, EuroNanoLab, and the Flanders Chips Competence Center in support of EU Chips Act.
